Main challenges:
• Shore developments can bypass Environmental Impact Assessment.
• Intense development across the shoreline is causing habitat loss.
• Lake levels are close to a critical level which can affect recreation capacity and ecology.
• Reed habitat needs to be balanced for its cultural value while allowing access for recreational activities.
