Key Ecosystem Service: Navigation and Tourism.
Main objectives of Ecotwin: Simulation of thermal structure and 3D currents driven by wind and riverine discharge to model the transport processes in the lake (driftwood, turbidity, uprooted macrophytes).
Main challenges:
• Navigation safety in response to intense wind events.
• Macrophyte detachment due to low levels and dispersion in the lake with consequent disruption to tourism and navigation.
• Entrance of suspended solids and driftwood during floods from the Oglio River with consequent disruption to tourism and navigation.
