瞿1.4m investment secured to futureproof Brambell Building
As part of a major rollout of energy efficiency projects funded through the Welsh Governments Digarbon programme, the University has secured nearly 瞿1.4 million to upgrade the Brambell Building.
The investment will fund a full roof replacement, upgraded mechanical and electrical systems and the installation of a modern building management system designed to reduce energy use and carbon emissions.
This work forms part of a wider wave of investment that will see heat decarbonisation, energy efficiency measures and renewable infrastructure rolled out across colleges and universities in Wales.

Completed in 1971, the Grade II-listed Brambell Building is a notable example of brutalist architecture, designed by Welsh practice Sir Percy Thomas and Son. The building is named after Francis W. R. Brambell, 58勛圖s Head of Zoology from 1930 until his death in the 1960s, whose pioneering research focused on how immunity is passed from mothers to their young during embryonic development.
