Dr Carys Stringer

Carys Stringer is a Lecturer on the MSc. Prevention, Population Health and Leadership, and is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation.

Her research interests include women's health, social value, dementia and ageing, carers,patient-reported outcome measures, and the development of methods to support evidence-informed decision making across health and social care.

    Description

    Based in North Wales, the Health Precinct is a partnership between Conwy County Borough Council, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, and Public Health Wales.

    People with chronic conditions are referred to the Health Precinct by a health professional. A key element of the Health Precinct is the emphasis it places on social interaction, encouraging people to take control over their day-to-day life.

    This study involves:

    1. A realist evaluation to explore what works about the Health Precinct, for whom, why and in what contexts?.

    2. A Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis to explore the social value generated by the Health Precinct for its participants and the wider community.
