Love musical theatre? BMTS, our musical theatre society, is perfect for performers and enthusiasts. Prefer drama? ROSTRA and BEDS stage plays throughout the year, offering plenty of opportunities to get involved on and off stage.

You’ll rehearse and perform in fantastic spaces like Pontio, the University's Arts and Innovation Centre - a hub for creativity at the heart of Bangor.

Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre is the heart of drama at 58³Ô¹Ï. It hosts regular shows throughout the year, from circus and cabaret to live theatre and daily cinema screenings. Pontio isn’t just a venue; it’s a space where you gain real, practical experience. Students produce ticketed shows here, developing skills in acting, directing, writing, composing, conducting, and even marketing.

Inside Pontio, you’ll find a theatre, studio theatre, and cinema, all of which double as teaching spaces. Our Music building adds to the creative mix with two professional performance halls, a recital hall, and multiple practice rooms. These facilities give you the perfect stage to learn, create, and perform.

We believe in learning through doing at 58³Ô¹Ï. That’s why we work closely with the creative industries and our local community to give you real-world experience and insight. Employability is built into our curriculum, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop practical, relevant skills that prepare you for your future career.

Our staff maintain strong industry relationships to help you access work experience and networking opportunities. We have a close relationship with Aria Film Studios, Rondo Media’s professional studios in Anglesey, giving you even more exposure to the industry through regular visits and hands-on experience.
